How we collect, use and protect your personal data.

We collect the following categories of data when you use Nutri Macro:
With your explicit, separate consent, Nutri Macro reads the following health metrics from Apple Health (iOS) or Google Health Connect (Android). On Android, data written to Health Connect by Samsung Health or another fitness app is read through Health Connect in the same way. Consent is asked for separately from account registration, and you can withdraw it at any time in the app under Profile → Privacy Settings.
History. When you first connect Apple Health or Health Connect, we read up to the last 90 days of the metrics above so that your charts and trends are not empty on day one. After that we read only recent data. We never overwrite data you entered yourself: where you have already logged a weight or a night's sleep, your own entry is kept and the imported one is skipped.
How this data is handled. It is stored on our servers in the European Union, encrypted in transit, and used only to personalise your nutrition, recovery and insights and to sync across your devices. We never sell health data, never share it with data brokers, and never use it for advertising or ad targeting. It is not used to train any AI model. Nutri Macro only reads from Apple Health and Health Connect — it never writes to them or changes your health records. You can delete it at any time by deleting your account in the app, which removes it from our servers.
Leaving your device (upload & web access). So that your dashboard, charts, activity history and recovery scores are available everywhere — not just on the phone that recorded them — this health and fitness data (including steps, distance, active and total calories, heart rate and HRV, sleep, weight, and workout/activity sessions such as runs, walks and rides with their route and pace) is uploaded from your device to our servers. It is then shown back to you when you sign in to the Nutri Macro web app at nutrimacro.ie and kept in sync across your phone, tablet and the web. The upload happens only after you grant health access and only for the metrics listed above; it is transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored encrypted in the EU. If you would rather your health data never leave your phone, do not grant health access (or withdraw it under Profile → Privacy Settings) — the app still works with the data you enter manually.

We retain your account and health data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will erase your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.

Our website uses strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in. We use Google Analytics (anonymised) to understand how visitors use the site. You can opt out of analytics cookies at any time.
Nutri Macro is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, and access controls to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your data may be processed outside the EEA (e.g. by Google in the United States). Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
